The cubes are too small and detract from the presentation. The bitterness has a distinct character but dominates the drink far too much. The sweetness is barely noticeable, and the orange flavour is almost entirely absent too. There is too little to counter the bitterness, so the balance isn’t quite right – however good the glass may be. The overall score comes to 6.3 out of 10. A Negroni that, above all, needed more of a counterweight to its bitterness.
